Well it has been at least 3 years since I did a redesign, and one is under way. Maybe two. One has a lot of color and almost finished, or maybe just do a few wholesale changes to this one. I do love the clean look.
One thing I am definitely adding is threaded comments.
I only have experience with a small handful of shopping carts, and the two that I can definitely say stay away from are Zen Cart and osCommerce. Being free is not a money saver.
Example: A site that I am working on (and I agreed to take over before learning it was built using Zen Cart) has 100’s of products that require options (size, color, shipping weight increases for the larger sizes). There isn’t any way to clone those attributes so they have to be setup for…
“Above the fold” is a terminology used by the print world. In my not so humble opinion it does not belong in the web world. Print and web are NOT the same. They have been nor will they be.
If I cannot tell what your business is about just by looking at your website I won’t explore, and nor will anyone else. Well some will. You need to generate excitement.
Finally, people do scroll once you have captured their interest. Oh, and leave mystery meat navigation out. You need clearly…
I found these great articles on how real estate agents or brokers should blog, and they should not blog about their listings. I know that agents, etc. think that they have to write about their listings, but you shouldn’t. You really shouldn’t.
Topics that you can write about are the neighborhoods, schools, local activities, buildings, permitting and information that will be useful for someone considering purchasing or just learning more about the area. Become an authority.

The following video provides an interesting overview of social media and its impact on how businesses will have to begin embracing it if they are not already doing so.
However, I don’t believe email will ever go away as a method of communication between a customer/client and a business. Typically there are too many details that simply cannot be provided within 140 characters. However, it can be a great tool to have a web page discussing the problem and how to resolve and then Twitter about it. Or add it…
Several friends over at Facebook have commented and posted the link to the Cruzan Rum website. So I had to visit their site since it had been a couple of years.
Before I start my review I have to say that I do really love the design. It’s how the design was executed that I take major issue with.

First of all, I have to thank LOGODESIGNLOVE for the post regarding this significant issue.
I could not in good faith recommend purchasing a logo from istockphoto.com when they actually start offering them. They are leaving it to the designer to ensure that they are not infringing on any copyright or trademark.
And quite frankly I cannot envision the designer taking the time to do the research. It’s a lot of work. And the payment to the designer would never be sufficient in the event they were…
Well I found another company (LPH Internet Services) located in Laguna Beach, CA taking my content, and actually linking directly to it using my bandwidth. I am so not amused. And yes, I have sent them a Cease and Desist.
If you go to any of the following pages and either select “View Source” or “Source” (depending on your browser) you will see the direct link.
